Sponsorship Licence and Skilled Worker Visa

With Brexit, a points-based immigration system was implemented, and those wishing to work in the UK were included in this system.

As a result, anyone who does not currently hold a UK work permit must first obtain a job offer from a sponsored company before applying for a skilled worker visa with this offer.

There are three main requirements for this visa type.

1-   The sponsoring company should make a job offer.

2-   English of at least B1 level must be provided.

3-   A minimum annual salary of £25,600 must be offered.

Which Companies are Eligible for a Sponsorship License?

Any company operating in the United Kingdom that can demonstrate a one-year financial standing may apply for a sponsorship licence. In this application, the purpose for wanting to bring a worker from abroad should be explained in a letter.

Who can apply for a Skilled Worker Visa?

The most important requirement in this visa type is that the applicant is a skilled worker. The qualification referred to here is not just education. Although a university degree is not required, the person’s educational and work history must demonstrate that he or she is qualified. A construction company, for example, can hire a civil engineer as well as a plasterer, carpenter, and plumber with relevant experience.

English Language requirements

The applicant must have a B1 level of English as a prerequisite for this visa type. If the individual has studied English, they can use the equivalence documents to demonstrate their proficiency. If they have not studied English, they must demonstrate this level through the English exam.
